Protests update

Yes I know I am a little slow but let me tell you about the 2 protests which have happened so far.

On 27 November Fur Free held a demo outside Hyde Park in Johannesburg in aide of        Fur Free Friday. I arrived at Anneke's (Chairperson of Fur Free) house and was delighted to be painted completely red with a few pieces of faux fur glued to my body. I have always been a little bit shy of my body and after the naked photo shoot I have surprised myself and now I am quite comfortable walking around in my brooks, hee hee
The atmosphere was very overwhelming, people discussing topics from Veganism to Shelters.

After we were painted and ready to go, we walked to Hyde park proudly wearing our masks chanting "Say No to Fur" - We were placed very strategically on each little corner, some people in cages, others holding banners and some draped on top of the cages. We even had a few furry supporters which drew alot of attention.

Some well known faces were amongst the supporters, Norman Anstey, Jeremy Mansfield and his wife. They prove to be normal people just like you and I with the passion to help animals - truly amazing!

After lying in the sun for 2 hours I am the proud owner of a very patchy tan - awesome!!!

Thank you to Fur Free SA for making this protest successful, without your passion I, as an activist, would not have the drive in me to do the things I do!

View the slideshow of the pictures from the protest.

To my disgust the circus is in town!!! Thank you to Sarah and PetaAsia who organised a                  protest against the cruel circus at Monte Casino Boulevard outside the circus. There was a wonderful turnout with a few people dressed as prisoners. Many people drove past hooting at us to show their support.
Grant Nash from 5fm informed the listeners briefly about circuses being cruel to animals and notified them of the protest - Great publicity!!!

I watched the poor elephants, who were behind us, throw the grass on their backs trying to cool themselves down. If they lived like God intended them to, they would be using mud/ water or sand to cool themselves. They had no shelter and it was scorching! They are there until the 19th Dec, so if you can drive past and show them the finger, please do so...and inform all your friends and family to never support the circus as they are supporting the cruelty too!

We will be showing our support for the animals before every show until the 19th - lets hope we can get the word out that the BOSWELL CIRCUS IS OUTDATED and ANIMALS BELONG IN THE WILD!!!

Once again, I am a proud owner of a t-shirt and pump tan :-)

I personally love meeting new people and I have met some wonderful people along the way and I know I will meet a lot more who will inspire me to be a better person!!!

Peace and Love
